Steve started his career at a young age playing drums and turned professional immediately after graduating from the University of London with a degree in Biology. He played numerous summer seasons at Pontins and Warners, as well as drumming in rock and punk bands, some of which attracted the interest of various record companies, including DJM and Virgin.

Steve then expanded into comedy, appearing in various comedy show bands throughout the UK. He returned to mainstream music when he was invited to join Dana's backing band in the eighties, playing many venues, including her Melody and Laughter Show at the Babbacombe Theatre, Torquay. Steve’s career has taken him all over Europe and he was also a guest on Sting’s Mercury Falling European tour in 1997.

As well as having two books published, Steve has made numerous appearances on radio and TV, including Monty Python’s Flying Circus and an ITV Christmas special Twelve Drummers Drumming. Last year, as well as appearing in panto, he played the lead role of Billy Baxter in the short film Moving On Up. Most recently he appeared in "The Bunker" promo for E4. Steve also is the drummer of Status Clone.

When Steve is not working he enjoys flying, (he is a qualified pilot), skiing, golf and sailing.
